These countless conversations with horses are changing me. Seeing our lack of softness through their eyes - the rushing, the focus on progress, the need to make something happen - has made it unappealing. Literally every horse wants us to slow down and breathe deep. Every horse wants us to wait until they are ready.
I'm taking this as an invitation to be lovestruck and wander around with my pony, to be present and curious and to take things at her pace. And lo and behold, she's softness too.
